| 07/14/2026 We are sad to announce the passing of one of our Tenor members Ferruccio Germani who sang with the chorus most of the years from 1995 to 2019. He will be missed. Obituary can be found at Legacy.com here https://www.legacy.com/legacy/ferruccio-germani Ferruccio was born September 1st 1950 to Fred and Rose (Dicola) Germani. A 1968 graduate of New Castle High, Ferruccio was an extremely gifted musician and composer. Achieving several degrees from multiple universities and a doctorate in Music Composition. He taught at Juilliard, The Union Institute, Cuyahoga Community College and for many years at Penn State Shenango, spreading his love of music theory and composition. Ferruccio was an ambassador of music with an international program that promoted the arts and culture around the world. Fluent in American Sign Language, he was known to frequent an establishment in his community in New York, signing stories for the deaf patrons, forming connections and community. Ferruccio was a Franciscan Brother of the Order of Companions of Jesus and was also ordained as a Hierodeacon in the Orthodox Church. In 2001 He was commissioned to write a Requiem for 9-11 which was premiered at the one year anniversary of the tragedy. Ferruccio was a wonderful friend, a great mentor, an excellent musician, beloved instructor and a kind human being. He was full of laughter, friendship, generosity, good humor and love for everyone who had the pleasure of his presence. He was always grateful and appreciative of the kindness returned to him. He had a a very strong faith and devotion to God and his smile will be missed but never forgotten. |
