Zachary Luchetti, Bass soloist
Zachary Luchetti, baritone, was recently featured on the internationally acclaimed blog "Barihunks." His tongue in cheek biography, which took a satirical look at over-inflated singer biographies and featured a somewhat provocative picture, came very close to going viral, and almost made him famous. Recently he reprised the role of Tom, which he created for the opera Night of the Living Dead for Lincoln Park Performing Arts Series and Lord Mountararrat in Iolanthe with the Pittsburgh Savoyards. Additional credits include Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Papageno in The Magic Flute, with Undercroft Opera, Silvio in Pagliacci and Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore with Berks Opera Company, Mr. Goldbury in Utopia Limited and Dr. Daly in The Sorcerer with the Pittsburgh Savoyards and The Stranger in Lukas Foss' Jumping Frog of Calaveras County with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh as well as a series of new works with NANOWorks Opera in Cincinnati.

Zachary Luchetti, a Grove City native recently returned from San Francisco where he attended the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute. While on the west coast, he sang the role of Publio in Mozart's La clemenza di Tito in addition to numerous concerts and scenes programs. This April he organized the Pittsburgh area premiere of Puccini's first opera Le Villi for which he sang the baritone lead. Other roles have included the title role in Gianni Schicchi, Zuniga in Carmen, Palemon in Thaïs and Colline in La Bohéme. As a concert soloist, Mr. Luchetti has appeared in Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, Schubert's Mass in G, Handel's Messiah, Dubois' Seven Last Words of Christ and Mozart's Requiem. In 2006 he premiered a song cycle written for him at Cornell University. He has served as the soloist for the Austrian American Culture Society and Institute for German American Relations in Pittsburgh. In January he will cover Zurga in Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles with Berks Opera Theater.

He presented Mahler's Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen for Pittsburgh's Eclectic Laboratory Orchestra's inaugural concert and sang the world premiere of a concert of new music written for him at Cornell University. Other engagements include Achilla in Giulio Cesare with Undercroft Opera, Gasparo in Rita at Duquesne University and Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic.
