Zachary Luchette , bass
Zachary Luchette, a Grove City native recently returned from San Francisco where he attended the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute. While on the west coast, he sang the role of Publio in Mozart's La clemenza di Tito in addition to numerous concerts and scenes programs. This April he organized the Pittsburgh area premiere of Puccini's first opera Le Villi for which he sang the baritone lead. Other roles have includedthe title role in Gianni Schicchi, Zuniga in Carmen, Palemon in Thaïs andColline in La Bohéme.As a concert soloist, Mr. Luchette has appeared in Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem, Schubert's Mass in G, Handel's Messiah, Dubois' Seven Last Words of Christ and Mozart's Requiem. In 2006 he premiered a song cycle written for him at Cornell University . He has served as the soloist for the Austrian American Culture Society and Institute for German American Relations in Pittsburgh. In January he will cover Zurga in Bizet's Les Pêcheurs de Perles with Berks Opera Theater.
