Jenifer McMurdy Mostard, soprano soloist
Jenifer McMurdy Mostard, Soprano, is a Pennsylvania native and alumna of the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in French and Business Communications from Grove City College, and studied French at the respected Middlebury Language Schools. She is a student of Diana Walters and participated in many of her recitals in Grove City, PA. A previous soprano soloist for the New Castle Music Club’s annual performance of Handel’s Messiah, she has also performed solos from Mozart’s Requiem with the Grove City College Orchestra & Touring Choir. She also took part in the Allegheny College Chamber Music Festival, and has taught junior high music at Stoneboro Wesleyan. While living abroad, Jenifer’s sacred performances included Wallington Methodist Church, in Wallington, UK where she also served as piano accompanist; St. Augustine’s church, London, UK; and Newton Abbey Church in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Jenifer was the headline performer at the Wallington Ladies Club’s extremely successful benefit concert for the Macmillan Nurses Charity in London area, and held a private recital for them at their society’s spring garden party. She also volunteered as a musician at the Ryelands Care Home in Wallington, UK. Most recently, Ms McMurdy Mostard has provided sacred music solos for services at Bell Memorial Church in Boyers, PA, as well as serving as their piano accompanist. Jenifer has also been involved in numerous choral events, including a performance of Arvo Part’s Berliner Messe with the Vocis Solis chamber choir and the Pittsburgh Chamber Orchestra; and she has performed with the Bach Society of Grove City, PA and the French School Chorale at Middlebury University in Vermont. She currently lives in Mercer, PA with her husband and two children.
